Straight answer, because a hobby site should give you one: Luca Bertani is a pen name — the byline for this site's editorial desk rather than one person's government name. What the byline stands behind is real. This desk has been collecting for two decades: handling, grading, buying, and selling real cards. Nothing here is reprinted from a press release. If a box rips badly, if a rookie is over-hyped, or if a listing is a trap, we've usually seen it firsthand before we write it down.
Why Formula 1, and why Antonelli
F1's modern licensed era — Topps flagship, Chrome, Dynasty, Topps Now — behaves like the best rookie-driven baseball and basketball markets did before everyone was watching: a genuine debut season, a spotlight seat, and a checklist most collectors are still learning to read. Kimi Antonelli is the clearest example on the grid right now, which is why this site goes deep on his rookie cards, what they're worth, and the autograph and chrome chase.
How I write these pages
Three rules. First, I never quote you a card's dollar value out of the air — the only honest price is a live listing, so where a card trades I point you at the real ones. Second, availability is checked against live retailer data daily and flagged honestly when something dies, never hidden. Third, if a product is only good for the fun of ripping and not for value, I say so. The point is to be the collector friend who tells you the truth before you spend, not the one selling you the dream.
