The rookie-year checklist before you buy

• Confirm 2025, not the title. Antonelli's true F1 rookie year is 2025 — his first full Mercedes season. Cards from 2023–2024 are Mercedes-junior/F2 prospect issues, and anything from 2026 on is a later-year card no matter what a listing calls it. The copyright year is printed on the card itself, usually on the back — ask for that photo.
• The set spine, cheap to premium: Topps Formula 1 flagship (paper, the accessible entry) → Topps Chrome Formula 1 (refractors and numbered parallels, where most rookie-card value sits) → Chrome F1 Sapphire (online-exclusive chrome, its own parallel run) → F1 Turbo Attax (mass-market game packs, cheapest rip) → Topps Dynasty Formula 1 (on-card autos and relics, the top of the rookie market).
• An "RC" logo is a bonus, not proof. Rookie-designation stamps vary by product line and year and aren't applied uniformly across every Topps F1 release — the printed copyright year plus a licensed Topps F1 set name is the test that never goes stale.
• A real scarcity check, not a number to assume: Topps publishes each Topps Now card's final print run once its ~48-hour order window closes, and it varies card to card — look up the specific card's published figure (via the listing or Topps' own site) before paying a "rookie" premium on an unnumbered listing that offers no comparable figure.
