Kimi Antonelli Rookie Cards — What to Look For

If you’re starting a Kimi Antonelli collection, his rookie cards are the natural base — and because Topps holds the official Formula 1 trading-card license, every card you’ll chase comes out of the Topps F1 program. Here’s how to read that program so you know what you’re buying.

His true F1 rookie year is 2025

Antonelli stepped into the Mercedes-AMG Petronas seat for 2025, his first full Formula 1 season, taking over the seat Lewis Hamilton vacated. That makes 2025 the year of his genuine F1 rookie cards. You may also see earlier 2023–2024 prospect and Mercedes-junior cards from his F2 and junior-program days — collectors value those, but they’re prospect issues, not F1 rookies. The set families to search

• Topps Chrome Formula 1 — the headline chromium flagship. Refractors and numbered color parallels live here, and this is usually where the strongest rookie-card value sits.
• Is there a paper Topps F1 flagship? — the short answer is no. Read this before hunting a set that was never printed.
• Topps Chrome F1 Sapphire — an online-exclusive chromium edition with a glassy finish and a deep run of parallels.
• Topps F1 Turbo Attax — mass-market collectible-card-game packs; cheap, kid-friendly, and a fun low-cost entry.
• Topps Dynasty Formula 1 — ultra high-end, built around on-card autos and race-used relics (see the set guide, and how to buy the high end on our autographs page).
• Topps Now Formula 1 — print-to-order cards tied to specific race weekends. Only 2025-dated Topps Now issues are rookie-year; a later-year Antonelli Topps Now card is a milestone card, not a rookie card (see the FAQ below). Each card’s final print run is published by Topps once its order window closes and varies card to card — look up the specific card number’s published figure before you pay a “rookie” scarcity premium on an unnumbered listing that offers no comparable number.

How to actually buy them

Singles, rookies, and graded slabs trade on eBay, not Amazon — so the smart move is to search the live market rather than trust any one asking price. For anything at a serious price point, buy it graded (PSA or SGC) so condition and authenticity are locked in.

Two ways in: rip your own, or buy the single

Every collector ends up doing both, but it helps to know which you’re doing before you spend a dollar.

• Buy the single (targeted). If you want a specific card — the Chrome base rookie (#8), a numbered Chrome refractor, a graded PSA 10 — go straight to eBay with the searches above. You see exactly what you’re getting, you can read the grade and serial number, and sold comps tell you the real price. This is how you build a focused Antonelli player collection without overpaying.
